Katharine Drexel was born to a wealthy family, she renounced a life of luxury, entered the convent and devoted herself in the service to the poor.

This Commemorative Coin is minted in Silver (.999) to the highest proof quality standards. This exclusive commemorative features the front of the Church located at 20th and Providence Avenue, in Chester, Pa. The reverse side of the Medal is inscribed with the date of her canonization and the likeness of the shrine which was dedicated in the church, on Christmas Eve mass on December 24, 1999.
